SLAM is a Christian group
that uses sport to spread the message of the Bible in places
such as prisons, juvenile centers.
SLAM is uses various sports such as basketball, soccer,
touch football and volleyball. Sport is used to establish a friendly
environment to spend time with the inmates, love them, and preach the message of
Jesus Christ from the Bible.
We thank God that SLAM has now been operating for 6 years.
A typical day in prison
involves:

Arrive at the
prison grounds |

8:30am
|
Enter prison,
carry out appropriate checks with officers and get ready for
the game ahead and spend time in prayer. |

9:00am
|
Sport begins for
approx 1 - 1.5 hours. |

10:30am |
Time of sharing, where a message is preached
from the Word of God and some personal testimonies
are given from members of the SLAM team. |

11:00am |
Time to spend
talking and sharing personal testimonies with inmates while
having lunch. |
|
11:30am |
Prepare to leave
prison. |
Procedure and Policy
All activities carried out by the players
within the prison are governed and approved by the Governor of the
respective prison, the activity officers and the Chaplains.
